The exhibition ‘Bangkok 242 a Space for Sharing’ is one of the projects continuously conducted by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre to raise awareness of social issues by working with various social sectors. Creative activities and contemporary media arts are used to communicate ideas related to social issues, leading to learning, exchange of ideas, and support for social and community engagement as well as encouraging a cross-disciplinary approach in expanding the concept of challenging contemporary art formats for the public.
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre would like to take this opportunity to explore the aspects of society, urban landscape, lifestyle, economy, and art and culture through the ‘Bangkok 242 a Space for Sharing’ exhibition, inviting artists, creators, activists, and researchers from various fields. The exhibition is aimed to serve as a reflection on the urban landscape from the viewpoint of Bangkok citizens through historical, cultural, technological, and innovative lenses. It’s also aimed to explore the changes, current events, effects, opportunities, values, and hopes to collectively write a new chapter for Bangkok as a great place to live in through representation, awareness development, and learning that will lead to collective action with the audience from various perspectives.
