Bizen Ware By Hiroyuki Matsui, February 10–20, 2026,
M Floor, Siam Takashimaya
Siam Takashimaya invites you to discover the charm of traditional Japanese craftsmanship at the Bizen pottery exhibition from Japan, with a history of over 800 years. Meet the works of Hiroyuki Matsui, a Japanese ceramic artist who creates Bizen Yaki pottery using traditional firing techniques, seamlessly blending them with contemporary perspectives. The exhibition showcases more than 70 new pieces, including tea cups, vases, and sake containers, fired in traditional wood kilns, reflecting the philosophy of 'Wabi-Sabi' through their natural textures and uniquely deep colors.
Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition for free and have the opportunity to own these beautiful handcrafted works. Take part in a special opportunity to join the workshop “Handcrafting Art into Bizen Tea Cups” led by Hiroyuki Matsui, who will teach and guide you through every step of the pottery-making process. Participants will take home the pieces they create.
