Date:

“When memory is a burden for some, while forgetting becomes a wound for others.”

🗓Exhibition Dates: June 19 – August 10, 2025
📍Venue: 1st Floor, MMAD - MunMun Srinakarin
🎉Opening Event: Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM 🎉

“Blur–Remember” is a contemporary art exhibition that invites audiences to explore the relationship between freedom, memory, and human dignity through the everyday lives of two parallel groups — one living outside of prison, in a life of freedom (or one that appears free), and the other existing behind bars, under the control of legal and societal systems.

The exhibition is presented through basic human routines — eating, defecating, having sex, sleeping — actions that seem simple, mundane, and repetitive, yet are laden with meanings of power, control, and existence when viewed through the eyes of both those imprisoned and those living freely. Objects such as beds, plates, toilets, or spaces for intimacy are used as parallel comparisons, reflecting not only physical differences but also pointing to the thin line between living and existing, between “humans being punished” and “humans who see others as the punished.”

This exhibition does not aim to judge who deserves punishment or who should be forgiven. Rather, it seeks to make the audience aware of the humanity that still remains, even under conditions where the law tries to diminish it. It invites us to question the system of incarceration — not just in the physical sense, but also in terms of the thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes we hold toward prisoners.

At the same time, the exhibition turns its gaze back to the “outside world” — a world without bars, where people are still imprisoned by memories, guilt, shame, or even indifference toward the stories of others.

“Blur–Remember” thus becomes both a conversation and a shared contemplation between the “world that wants to remember” and the “world that wants to forget,” between one person facing the past and another trying to escape it, between all of us and those others we may have never even seen.
