Bangkok Theatre Festival was first held in 2002 (B.E. 2545) through the collaboration of the Bangkok Theatre Network. The festival has been organized annually during the month of November and is considered the longest-running and most extensive performance arts festival in Bangkok. We provide a platform for artists, students, and general public interested in this art form to come together, exchange perspectives, and explore contemporary performing arts.
Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre (BACC) has been our main venue since 2013 (B.E. 2556). Over the past 21 years, the festival has witnessed numerous changes and transformations amidst both beautiful moments and challenges. We have adapted and moved forward, fueled by the passion and dedication of artists, embracing diversity, and fostering quality in all forms of performing arts.
We reaffirm our commitment to strengthen this foundation by focusing on prioritizing local artists and expanding opportunities for emerging young Thai artists. This year, we increase the number of venues beyond the central area (BACC) and support the selection of impactful and high-quality works.
