The concept of this exhibition is ‘Cynical Bear Playground’. To him, ‘play’ carries the meaning of simple amusement, as well as the significance of ‘living’ and ‘life’ .
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Cynical Bear’s arrival in the beautiful country of Thailand. A decade ago, Cynical Bear arrived in an unfinished state. Over the course of ten years, Cynical Bear gradually evolved through five solo exhibitions in Thailand, with the invaluable assistance of many friends. During this time, he transformed into the Cynical Bear we know today. This beautiful Thailand has become like a home for Cynical Bear, where he lives his daily life. Thailand, therefore, serves as a playground where ‘living’ and ‘life’ coexist for Cynical Bear.
Cynical Bear always conveys a message. His previous messages addressed ‘social issues’ and ‘politics’, which were often challenging to share with a broader audience. With this exhibition, he aspires to bridge the gap and connect with people more closely. In fact, this exhibition contains numerous messages, many of which are messages directed towards Cynical Bear himself. These messages provide comfort and the strength he needs to persevere. He hopes that people can relate to and share in these messages.
