A celebration of the longstanding partnership between La Lanta Fine Art and Belgian-born artist Christian Develter, presents a curated selection of paintings and lithographs from Develter’s “Chin series”, complemented by works of wearable art from the Develter x Tube Gallery resort line. In 2012, following a period of extensive travel through the North-Western region of Myanmar, Develter created the “Chin series”: portraits based on the intricately-tattooed women of the Chin tribe, whose cultural practices and beliefs, evolving and assimilating external influences, fascinated him. With characteristically bold colors and composition, Develter depicts their facial tattoos, which can denote marital status and social ranking, to evoke their strength and beauty.

The Develter x Tube Gallery resort line transposes Develter’s paintings into wearable art inflected with the creative vision of Phisit Jongnarangsin and Saxit Pisalasupongs, the fashion house’s founding duo and longtime admirers of Develter’s art. Marrying the brand’s signature use of strong, vivid colors with Develter’s vibrant and expressive style, the relaxed resort silhouettes balance bold visual impact with effortless wearability.
