El mentals
By 4th-year students, Visual Arts Program, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University
Exhibition: April 7 - 12, 2026
Venue: Studio, 4th Floor
The 29th thesis art exhibition of 4th-year students in the Visual Arts program, Faculty of Fine Arts, Khon Kaen University, under the concept “El mentals,” utilizes the four elements—earth, water, air, fire—as fundamental forces of existence, both in nature and within humans. The artworks are grouped according to the states they convey, such as stability, flow, movement, and transformation, to open a new perspective on the word “element” in the context of contemporary art.
The El Mentals art exhibition is based on the concept of 'elements,' which refers to the basic components that create existence and the changes of all things. This exhibition serves as a space for the convergence of the energies, states, and experiences of the artists. Each artwork has its own origin, concept, and perspective, but they can be connected through the characteristics of the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. The exhibition presents artworks grouped according to the states or energies reflected in the pieces, whether it is stability, flow, movement, or transformation, reflecting both the nature of the world and the internal states of humans in various dimensions, through different forms, methods, and interpretations.
The El mentals exhibition is therefore a space that allows the power and diversity of perception to come together in one place, similar to a natural system where different elements work together, creating balance, relationships, and new meanings that connect art, nature, and human experience.
