Every Day Good

Vincent Leow

Date:

4 Jun - 14 Jul 2024

MATDOT Art Center unveils the exhibition “Every Day Good” by contemporary Singaporean artist Vincent Leow. The exhibition features over one hundred drawings on paper, reflecting the artist's perspective and feelings towards human experiences of loss, and the chaos and destruction caused by ongoing conflicts in the world today.

These intricate black-and-white drawings consist of overlapping human forms, structures, and numerous unidentifiable objects. They serve as the artist's daily journal during his residency at MATDOT Art Center. During this period, Vincent was exposed to news of wars and violence occurring worldwide, reported through online media. Although these distressing events may seem distant from us, they are real occurrences that repeat continually, causing turmoil and loss. What may be a good day for us could be a dreadful day for countless others. The artist aims for this body of work to raise awareness of the dangers relentlessly undermining humanity.

“Every Day Good” is open for viewing free of charge from 4 June to 7 July 2024, at Blacklist Gallery, MATDOT Art Center, Lan Luang Road, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok. The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 4 June 2024 at 18:00.
