This exhibition stems from a decade of careful observation and exploration by artist Michael Chaowanasai. Over ten years, he has spent his days watching the world, questioning it, responding to it, digesting it, and releasing it through his art. Everything changes with the passage of time, and the traces of the past inevitably surface. As some things grow and others wither, it becomes undeniably true that time both gives and takes away.
The artist invites visitors to keep one thing in mind when encountering his work: he encourages you to truly look at what is before you — not merely see it. Be serious, but not too serious, and hold a sense of humor. He believes that “when you find the balance between these three things, trust me, life as a whole will become much easier to live.”
