Life is Less Without Art

Somphong Panich

Date:

5 Jul - 3 Aug 2024

Life is Less Without Art, the latest exhibition by renowned Thai architect Sompong Panich, invites you to release all your feelings and unleash your imagination. Now fully committed as an artist alongside his role as a collector of rare art pieces, Sompong has created sculptures that are simple yet profoundly complex, depicting the relationships between two people. This exhibition allows you to freely weave your own stories into his artworks at the Inspiration Space in the Charoen Krung district.

Driven by the artist's fascination with the captivating texture of clay and inspired by conversations scattered at the dinner table in an abandoned house with valuable stories amidst chaos for over 30 years, where valuable art has been hidden, Sompong's work fuses art with his spirit. He has created a small space to convey important messages and emphasize deep emotions. His works imprint his firm emotions on bare clay, suspended from heavy industrial structures that seem to weigh us down. Letting go of your feelings in this small space offers a therapeutic release, allowing art to lighten life through the artist's creations.

Life is Less Without Art, an exhibition by Sompong Panich, is open for free from July 5 to August 3, from 12:00 to 19:00 (closed every Monday and Tuesday). It is displayed on the second floor of C43: Fashion and Inspiration Space within the Charoen 43 Art and Eatery project.
