New Anatomy of Mahori” is an exhibition that tells the story of a prototype miniature Mahori ensemble—an experimental project born from the open-minded vision of Prince Bhanubandhu Yugala and the master craftsmanship of Tuen Phattayakul. Through this collaboration, a uniquely scaled-down Mahori ensemble was created—charming and delicate in form, and producing a sound distinctly different from that of standard-sized Thai instruments. Its tone is lighter and brighter, often likened to the voice of a child, in contrast to the fuller, more mature sound of conventional Thai musical instruments. This experiment opened new possibilities beyond the limitations of its time, reimagining Thai musical tradition through innovation, skill, and imagination.
