Miscellany of Khon

Miscellany of Khon program will take you to the unexpected realm of Khon as seen through the eyes of a new generation, one that is familiar with contemporary arts and at the same time appreciated the traditional spirit of Khon. The program will proceed with a screening of the "Miscellany of Khon" documentary film led by Thanpuying Sirikitiya Jensen and directed by Jitti Chompee which consists of 6 episodes: Thread, The Last Chui Chai, Femininity in male performers, Narration, Untold Stories, and Baak. The program ends with "The Miscellany of Khon Performance”. This dance and music performance will be enlivened by demonstrations from a hard mallet ensemble (Piphat Mai Khaeng ensemble) and principal dancers from the National Theater of Thailand

A performance of The Miscellany of Khon and the world premiere of the “Miscellany of Khon” six-part documentary series took place at Mille Plateaux CCN La Rochelle on November 4 2023. An additional showing performed at the Opéra de Limoges / Centre Jean Moulin on November 7, 2023 in France. School of Ganesh and The Miscellany of Khon featured in the Bienal Internacional de Danza de Cali, held at the “La Licorera”, the Center for Dance and Choreography of the Valle del Cauca, in Colombia, on November 10-12 2023.
