Pira Ogawa: My Life Works

This exhibition gathers the life's work of Pira Ogawa

Date:

20 Oct 2023 - 7 Jan 2024

This exhibition gathers the life's work of Pira Ogawa, a senior artist who has been a driving force for spreading joy and inspiration. Pira, an engineer, has been drawing with passion for over 60 years. In a way, the drawing helps relieve the suffering from Tinnitus, commonly described as a sound similar to an insect buzzing in his head. As an engineer, Pira uses engineering tools to aid his drawing.

His numerous artworks over the years were first introduced to the public at the Bangkok Illustration Fair 2021, where his daughter submitted his works. The exhibition was highly appreciated and eventually won the Popular Vote award.

The upcoming exhibition will be his first solo exhibition, in which his work pieces will be presented in a chronological order. The exhibition will be divided into two parts, each representing happiness, enjoyment, diverse perceptions, ideas, experiences, experiments, presentations of possibilities, and how he has overcome obstacles in his 60-year art career. His work has been created using a variety of materials, such as stencil paper, colored paper, canvas, acrylic paint, and marker pens. This exhibition is hosted by BKKIF in collaboration with Happening and curated by Dexembell.
