The Beautiful Mess of Being Fully Awake
Sandy Chuchat
🗓 Exhibition Dates: June 21 – August 31, 2025
📍 MMAD MASS GALLERY, 2nd Floor, MAD, MUN-MUN Srinakarin
When words fail, images, emotions, and gestures become the primary language of an unspeakable truth. The subconscious takes shape; fractured identities begin to see themselves; and in this act of “seeing,” something silent and sacred is reclaimed.
The works in this exhibition draw inspiration from the psychological concepts of Carl Jung, especially the notion of the Shadow Self. Sandy Chuchat delves deep into the repressed corners of the mind, where the unconscious starts to speak through art, forming a path toward integration and wholeness.
This is not only a personal healing process, but also an invitation for viewers to confront their own buried emotions, creating a shared experience filled with reflection and spiritual growth. As the psyche gradually returns to balance, her works serve both as acts of inner cleansing and explorations of sorrow in a broader, collective context — a space where pain is not denied, but gently transformed.
Philosophically, her work reflects the idea that sorrow is not the opposite of life, but rather its continuation in a transformed form.
