The Biophilia Scape

Praiya Ketkool

Date:

14 May - 5 July 2026

River City Bangkok proudly presents the second solo exhibition by Praiya Ketkool, an artist who invites viewers to contemplate the intricate relationship between humankind and nature through a lens of attentive and delicate observation.

The term “Biophilia” derives from “Bio” (life) and “Philia” (love or affinity). It describes the profound connection humans share with the natural world—one that extends beyond aesthetic appreciation and reflects a fundamental instinct deeply rooted in our evolutionary heritage.

“The Biophilia Scape” translates this idea through a body of paintings that guide viewers into the microscopic world of landscapes, plants, and flowers. Here, nature is not merely depicted as an object of beauty but presented as a field for observation, analysis, and reflection upon the complex and fragile structures of life. Close-up portrayals of petals, leaves, insects, and often-overlooked details are rendered with remarkable precision and realism, inviting viewers to encounter dimensions of nature that the hurried gaze of everyday life rarely pauses to perceive.

“The Biophilia Scape” is open from 14 May - 5 July 2026 at RCB Galleria 4, 2nd floor, River City Bangkok.
