Khae Kao – The Musical is a sung-through production, featuring music by Kaiwan Kulwattanothai, Suthee Saengsareechon, and Phudinan Deesawatmongkol, with script and lyrics by Daraka Wongsirikul and stage direction by Suwandee Jakraworawut.

This timeless tale follows the life of Riam, a simple country girl who experiences her first love and makes a heartfelt vow with Khwan, the son of her family’s sworn enemy. But when her father sells her to Madam Thongkham, a wealthy woman who raises Riam as her own (replacing a deceased daughter), Riam’s life changes drastically. Despite her new, elevated world, Khwan’s unwavering love pulls at Riam’s heart, making her question her choices — even as her mind and feelings evolve far beyond the humble rice fields of Bang Kapi.

Khae Kao is a tragic love story often described as the Romeo and Juliet of the Thai countryside, retold through a full-length musical experience.
