Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), in collaboration with the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture, Ministry of Culture, Goethe-Institut Thailand, and the Fong Naam Ensemble proudly presents ‘The Octave Zero: 80 Years of Bruce Gaston, the Melodies of Fong Naam’.
Bruce Gaston (1946—2021) is a key figure who created a musical and cultural phenomena in the history of contemporary Thai music. His work did not merely adapt Thai music for global audiences; rather, it expanded the philosophical and structural possibilities of sound itself.
Experience an exhibition, panel discussions, workshops, concerts, and a special performance to commemorate the life and legacy of Bruce Gaston. 'The Octave Zero’ is not merely a birthday remembrance nor simply a reunion of artists and collaborators. It revisits the legacy of a teacher who once reshaped the terrain of contemporary Thai music, reopening his ideas to present and future generations.
