Traces of Life from Nature

“Traces of Life from Nature” reflects the artist’s personal journey growing up in the forests of Phu Mak Yang in Yasothon Province—a place that served as his roots, his memories, and his early classroom for learning how to live in harmony with nature. Guided by his grandfather, a hunter familiar with the rhythms of the forest, the artist absorbed knowledge, perspective, and a deep respect for the natural world from a very young age. Entering the vastly different environment of a big city and studying at Silpakorn University created a stark contrast between rural simplicity and urban intensity. This shift compelled the artist to revisit and question the meaning of “home,” identity, and the origins that shaped him. In his creative process, he uses natural materials such as leaves, grasses, and tree bark, pressing them onto the surface one imprint at a time. This deliberate repetition becomes both a meditative practice and a way of recording the passage of time, while embracing the element of chance that naturally arises from organic materials—whether through humidity, temperature, paint density, or the fragility of each leaf. Textures formed by water erosion and the slow wear of time are interpreted as symbols of natural cycles. The artist engages all his senses—breath, light, temperature, and the familiar atmosphere of the forest—to translate these impressions into visual form through dots, lines, colors, shapes, and naturally occurring traces. This series is not simply a visual artwork; it is a “memory archive” that conveys the language and rhythm of nature itself.
