A special retrospective exhibition celebrating the 70th birthday of the esteemed senior artist Somchai Watcharasombat.

Somchai has played a pivotal role in the Thai art scene for over five decades, with a body of work that reflects profound shifts in social, cultural, and artistic landscapes. His distinctive style blends diverse techniques with contemporary perspectives, earning him widespread recognition both nationally and internationally.

This exhibition brings together key works spanning multiple decades, thoughtfully arranged into themed series reflecting distinct periods of his career. These works chart not only the artist’s personal creative journey but also the evolving currents of the art world — from the movements of Modern Art, through the waves of Postmodernism, to the dynamics of Contemporary Art.

Each piece serves as a time capsule, capturing the tastes, beliefs, and societal currents of its era. Through his art, Somchai documents both the changing world and his own evolving thoughts, creating works that are both powerful and deeply narrative.
