Rachmaninoff Celebrates 150

Ayyub Guliyev (Conductor), Zee-Zee (Piano)

To mark the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birth, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra presents an all-Russian concert which features one of his best-loved masterpieces, the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. The soloist is Chinese-American pianist Zhang Zuo, also known simply as Zee-Zee, A passionate chamber musician, Zee Zee is a founding member of the Z.E.N. Trio, whose second Deutsche Gramophone album in 2019 featured Rachmaninoft Top orchestras she has appeared with include the London Philharmonic, Philbarmonia, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and NHK Symphony. Chinese Gramophone has described her as "full of enthusiasm and glamour, radiating the vigour of youth"

From Azerbaijan, the conductor Ayyub Guliyev is currently the Associate Professor of the Conducting Department of The Music Academy in Baku. He graduated from the Baku Musical Academy in 2005, then continuing his postgraduate conducting studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov St.-Petersburg State Conservatory, University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and Conducting Academy of the Berlin Kammerorchester in Vilnius, Lithuania.
