This year, BKKIF also expanded cooperation both domestically and internationally. To create more knowledge and experience exchange, we have an increase in the number of international artists. We have set up an 'International Alliance' zone in collaboration with 8 partners from 7 countries, including: Bologna Children's Book Fair from Italy, Kuala Lumpur Illustration Fair (KLIF) from Malaysia, Illustration Taipei (IT) from Taiwan, Organisation of Illustrators Council (OIC) and Illustration Art Festival (IAF) from Singapore, Illustration Korea (IK) from Republic of Korea, Jakarta Illustration & Creative Arts Fair (JICAF) from Indonesia, Hong Kong Illustration and Creative Show (HKICS) from Hongkong, and GAF Illustration Art Festival from China. We guarantee you'll get to know quite a number of exchange artists and content partners such as TACC, The Art Auction Center, and MOODY. Moreover, a great art supporter like ‘Spacebar Zine’ will create zine workshops for everyone to enjoy at the event as well.
We also have many activities to support both artists and participants, such as a space for artists to interact and present their works through 'B2A Matching' or business-to-artist matching. And the newest activity: 'Portfolio Review' in which all artists can bring artworks to receive comments and advice from professional artists. Additionally, there are many special activities such as 'MESSAGE to Artist': to let us write down good messages sent to artists, and 'BKKIF Candidate Showcase': a space to showcase the works of all BKKIF 2025 applicants who submitted their works via the website.
This year, we also emphasize on character creator showcases. Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), our government partner will be joined to build a good understanding of the creative and character industries, both copyright law, and business aspects. This will play a crucial role in creating a strong ecosystem for the illustration industry. The work of four illustrators and character creators: Cat Me Five, Cheesy Duck, ThisisBoringday, and Switch Panda will be showcased at BKKIF 2025.
Finally, we'll wrap up with a special contest for all artists, designers, and creators! Central THAM, one of this year's sponsors, is collaborating with BKKIF to organize the 'Central THAM Mascot Design Contest'. Under the concept of 'Social and Environmental Sustainability', the contest aims to reflect creativity, create positive impact, and inspire society towards a better future. Submissions are open from 4th October 2025 onward. Stay tuned for more details on the Bangkok Illustration Fair Facebook Page!
