“Gyn∞sis” is born from the fusion of three elements: “Gyn” (from the Greek gynē, meaning “woman”), “Genesis” (meaning “origin” or “beginning”), and the symbol “∞” (infinity), which embodies the idea of endless cycles. Combined, the title becomes a poetic metaphor for a birth that never truly escapes itself—a beginning that returns, again and again, to its original form, as though cursed to repeat its lineage across the threads of history.

In this exhibition, Chonnapas invites viewers to descend into the intricate web of gendered power that runs silently through the fabric of society—replicated so seamlessly that it becomes part of everyday life. This cycle persists quietly, like an echo reverberating in a sealed room. No matter how far the world turns forward, these unseen structures remain deeply rooted within our beliefs and culture.

But perhaps, the image of freedom and equality we so long for is merely a mirage—exquisitely woven to conceal the persistence of old systems still at play, looping endlessly like the “∞” symbol itself, with no true beginning or end.
