"Handle with care”

a solo exhibition by Sirat Intarachote (Madeitwhendrunk (MIWD))

Exhibition text by Varalee Na Pombejr

This series of artworks does not question fragility as a symbol of weakness, but rather regards it as evidence of existence. The artist MIWD conveys a process of self-reflection through dismantling fragments of the past, recognizing wounds, and gradually piecing life back together, the acknowledgment of wounds, and the gradual reassembly of life.

The journey of these wounds unfolds across five zones — from the fading of one’s identity, as if hidden behind a mask when the flash becomes too blinding to face oneself, the cycle of delicacy within a state of submersion (Zone 2); a quiet submersion into stillness. Then it moves through the act of misguided embrace (Zone 3). Before moving toward a state of sensitivity, where one begins “to place flowers in the gaps of the cracks” (Zone 4); hold is not to conceal the damage, but to recognize that beauty can emerge even within wounds. Ultimately, the journey culminates in Zone 5 — an apology and forgiveness to oneself.

“It’s not the act of falling into the water that take a life, but the inability to surface in time. A cracked mirror does not lose its power to reflect, just as scars do not strip us of our humanity. We are all mosaics of our pasts, pieced together by fragments of joy and pain. But if we let the broken shards define us, we deny ourselves the chance to see the beauty in our wholeness. To hold our fragility with care is not to hide our wounds, But to honor the strength it takes to live, broken yet unbroken.”

The exhibition invites audiences to perceive the beauty in imperfection, and to recognize that fragility is not something to erase, but a testament to being alive.
