Poise & Disarray (阴阳调和)'

Chickenfart (鸡屁)

Date:

17 October - 16 November 2026

GalileOasis Gallery presents "Poise & Disarray (阴阳调和)", the debut solo exhibition by Chinese artist Chickenfart (鸡屁).

Drawing inspiration from the ancient philosophy of Yin-Yang, Poise & Disarray delves into the unstable duality between social order and inner chaos. In this series, "Poise" symbolizes social norms, rationality, and outward composure, while "Disarray" embodies repressed impulse, chaos, and untamed human instinct. Rather than seeking a harmonious balance, Chickenfart's new textile banner paintings visualize the constant, electric tension between social domestication and primitive human instinct, discovering raw beauty within this unruly friction.

Chickenfart (b. 2001, Quanzhou, China) is a visual artist working across multiple mediums. Steeped in a grotesque American-vintage visual language, her work acts as a warning against societal conformity. A 2024 Biology graduate from Xinjiang University, Chickenfart translates her scientific background into art, mapping invisible psychological biology, such as internal trauma and hidden desires, to give form to emotions that science alone cannot describe.

Regarding her artist name, Chickenfart shares: "It was a nickname my old friends gave me. They said I ran like a little chicken, and they once heard me let out a really loud fart. So that's how Chickenfart came about."
