If "Salt" is the crystalized essence of time gifted by nature, “Kluea Samut: Live Arts and Performance” is the fusion of those crystals with human breath and movement. This interdisciplinary project invites the audience to explore a "cultural ecology" that pulses to the rhythm of the modern world.
On June 6 – 7, 2026, The Jim Thompson Art Center will transform into a collaborative space where Installation Art and Performing Arts converge. The performance questions the fragile yet powerful relationship between humanity and the traditional salt-pan way of life.
The heart of this showcase is the creation of a “Living Sculpture”— a conceptual work that deconstructs the boundaries between visual art and live performance. This project is a synergy of three visionary artists:
Wanasak Padungsestakit (Creative Director & Performer): Leads the audience through a contemporary lens to explore the cultural ecology of the salt pans in Samut Songkhram. His vision highlights a "Cycle" that transcends nature, touching upon spirituality and human survival.
Teerapon Seesung (Sculptor & Installation Artist): Illustrates the bond between humans and salt through intricate wire sculptures woven with unique techniques. These forms act as the physical skeletal structure of an ecosystem awaiting fulfillment.
Kwin Bhichitkul (Choreographer & Performer): Transforms void into movement, interpreting the harmony between salt-field traditions, nature, and science. Here, the body is not merely a performer but an integral, moving component of the sculpture itself.
